Playin' Guitar 'Round The Grid

Well, I just got Firstlook Voice to work on my computer, and I've been having oodles and oodles of fun with it. In particular, I've enjoyed being able to play guitar for folks. But more importantly, I've enjoyed getting payed to play guitar for folks. :P

Hopefully there's a career in all of this. But I doubt it lol. So yeah, if ya see me around playing guitar, please feel free to show me some L$ love. :D

Popular Places On The TeeGee

I've done enough posts about myself lately, lets focus on the grid for a change.

As of my writing this, the Popular Places list (The Top Ten) goes as follows: (I'll throw in a brief extremely biased explanation of each of 'em, 'cause I can.)

#1 Club Revolution (17149 traffic)
-Teen Grid's most popular club, ugliest build I've ever seen, laggy as hell, and guaranteed to have at least 20 gun toting, bling wearing, 1337sp33k1nG noobs at any given time.

#2 Jeffery's Land (11328 traffic)
-Jeffery Aubret's home, which has sort of been taken over by the entire community in his absence. An example of how crowded the place has gotten... the water in his hot tub is probably about 25% h2o, 25% urine, and 50% jism (You don't want to know what goes on in that thing.)

#3 Furry Plateau (7135 traffic)
-A furry hangout, Don't know a whole lot about it seeing as I'm not a furry.

#4 Gravity Space Station (7103 traffic)
-A MG-built space station, imported into the Linden owned Adams sim. It's #4 status can be attributed largely to its build enabled land, which is used as a sandbox by newer players.

#5 The Perfect Match (5437 traffic)
-A dating service which has been turned into a club, more or less, by the folks who frequent it. Go figure.

#6 Dernier Cri (4871 traffic)
-A private sim inhabited by fashion designers and clothing and accessories creators (Or elitist pricks, whatever turn you prefer.) A glorified mall, with expansive shops full of overpriced clothing.

#7 Club Danger!! (4783 traffic)
-A club... run by some "gangsta." Laggy and boring, as to be expected.

#8 Club Sizzla (4754 traffic)
-See #7

#9 [Chaos] Main Compound (4705 traffic)
-An army base for some obscure group of greifers. Ladifuckindah.

#10 Tiamat Market (4675 traffic)
-The only place that really deserves to be on the pop list. It was recently rebuilt and looks absolutely fantastic. I won't bother describing it, just go check it out yourself (its so worth it.)

Notable places that aren't in the top 10:

#18 City 665 (2489 traffic)
-A nice little cyber punk city to hang out and role play in.

#4,378 Cythe Guitar Works @ Alcove (38 traffic)
-My shop, just finished building it. We've got the new '52 Telecasters and '62 Les Pauls in now, as well as the older models (Warlocks, Stratocasters, ES-335s, Flying Vs, SGs, Xplorers, and the first LPs I did) At the moment, I'm the first and only builder who is making and selling all prim guitars. /me pats himself on the back. (No I don't feel like a douche for pluggin' myself in here like this. :D)

Now then, what does all this jazz say about the Teen Grid? For starters, it says alot about the kinds of people who play on the TG, and what demographic they fall into. (I'm not even going to try to give you an estimate in numbers for a number of reasons, number #1 would be I suck at math.)

Lets jump right in, we've got an assload of people going to clubs. What this means is there's a vast number of social gamers hoppin' back and forth between the clubs. Y'know, the people with the bandanas and bling who run around shirtless, spamming gestures 'til all you want to do is reach through the computer screen and squeeze the life right out of their body. These "social gamers" (coughDouchebagscough) make up the largest part of the grid, as shown by the number of clubs and hangouts on the Popular Places list.

The next big chunk of the TGs population requires house training and a fair amount of grooming (That was bad. I know.) I'm talking about furries of course. These guys have a number of places to chillax, namely Furry Plateau, FurNation, and the private sim Unreal. There's a huge number of furry content creators, but for every creator there's some immature fella whose probably under 13 (Them chillun' sho' love dey stuffed animal avamuhtars.)

After the furries comes the army goons, who are for all intensive purposes roughly the same in number as furries (and in many cases are furries.) These guys are in my opinion, the scum of the Earth, or grid, whatever. They run around like nutcases shooting each other up, and in many a case, everyone in the same sim as them. For the most part, army goons are newer players often led by more established players, who still act like they're a week old.

That just about covers the majority of the Teen Grid's populace, but there's just one more group (or clique) I'de like to throw out there: The regular folks. This tiny demographic mostly consists of everything from cyborg furries to pierced and tatooed punks to clean cut regular avs. Folks in this bunch are generally established and have been playing SL for around two years. These are the guys that were there when the TG was in beta, and although they've decreased in number, they're still out there, hanging around in places like City 665, Jeff's House, and a number of other short lived joints.

So yeah, thats the way I see the TG. If you disagree, you probably fall under one of the groups I bad-mouthed, and I say this to you: Go_Fuck_Yourself :P

7 Months To Go

As of today, July 15th, I've got exactly 7 months 'til I turn 18 and get deported to the big bad MG.

Naturally, I've got a few things I can't leave undone before I go. Number one on my list is to scrounge up about 50,000L$ before I shove off, gotta have some spending money to blow when I get to the MG. Number two, I'de like to get a sizable catalog of quality guitars built, so when I get to the MG, I can blow those motherfuckers out of the water ;P (I'm coming for you, bitches.) Finally, I want to establish myself as a big-time content creator on the TG before I get goin'.

It's a lot to do in 7 months, with school and all. So I can only pray I'll get it all done. And of course, any monetary donations are greatly appreciated. :P

New Shop Location...

Yay for free advertisement.

I dropped my main Guitar shop in Evolve, because Sonof is now a manager there. And quite frankly, the guy's about as capable of running a sim as a chimpanzee is of doing rocket science.

So I've moved to Alcove, where I've got a bigger plot in a better 'hood. The bright side to all this, is that I've finally got enough space for a live preformance area, so if your interested in playing at the Guitar Works, hit me up in world and we'll see what we can do.

'Course I need to build the place first... :P

Reppin' duh TSL, Architecture Style...

The title sounded cooler in my head.

On a big ol' hill in Stewart, a certain Jackson Widget is building himself a gorgeous place. At the time of my writing this, he's still in the process of the place, but i'l post a picture nonetheless.

The kids got talent, eh?

Not Really Related to SL, But...

I picked up my new acoustic yesterday, an Epiphone AJ18S ^_^

It plays like a dream.

So what's this got to do with TSL? I'm going to be recreating it in world. Nothing gets rid of builders block like buying a new guitar, apparently. :P

Stuck...

It's the middle of summer, I could be building up a frenzy and hawking my shit like crazy but I'm stuck.

I've got no idea what to make. I want to build something... anything, a building, a gun, a guitar, some shoes, a hat, I don't give a shit what. Just something.

Any pointers on how to rid myself of this builders block? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. :P

God Almighty, help a po' boy out.

Talkin' 'Bout My Generation

Let's get one thing straight: the teen grid doesn't suck. Let me enlighten you as to why.

We've got, for the most part, little to no lag (Unless of course your in the middle of a club with five hundred other idiots wearing ten thousand blinged up attachments, derrr.) We've got a nice small community, where you know the majority of the people. There aren't too many greifers, and for the most part, they're contained in the island sandboxes. More importantly, everything is dirt ass cheap compared to the main grid. Just take a look at an MG shopping website like SLboutique (Then tell me my guitars are expensive. :P) Another huge positive to our grid is the general lack of competition for content creators. You can make easy money by learning to build or script and setting up shop in one of the five billion malls.

So don't whine about how little there is in the way of content, when there's so much more to be happy about on our little cluster of sims.

Oh for fucks sake...

I'm gonna give this blog thang one mo' try.
